History

In 2003 our family (the Cavaletto’s) helped found the International Christian School of Tonga. At the time it was the only English speaking Christian school in the nation of Tonga.  Seeds of Hope International Ministries was later established in 2007 as a religious non-profit organization upon our family’s arrival home stateside, after having served as missionaries in the Kingdom of Tonga for 4 ½ years. In 2007 a Charitable Trust was established in Tonga under Seeds of Hope International Ministries (SOHIM) in order to be the “official” sponsor, as required by the Tongan Government of the International Christian School of Tonga (ICST).

Here in the United States, the ministry focus has been broadened to one of community involvement in order to open doors of opportunity to which we may minister to families through those developed relationships. In spring 2008, SOHIM assisted the Valley View Community Food Bank in Youngtown and Surprise, helping them meet the needs of the community through organizing financial donations and food drives. In Spring of 2009, SOHIM became an active participant in the Compassionate Surprise Leadership Group, which seeks to address many of the growing needs within the Community of Surprise, AZ.  In 2010, with video media becoming a more tangible tool to facilitate dialog groups amongst a younger generation, SOHIM has been involved in helping locally with the promotion and utilization of the movies “To Save A Life”, “No Greater Love”, and “Standing Firm” (which hopefully will be released in August) as ministry tools.
